The Hurricane that Wasn’t…

Hurricane Rita came through parts of Texas with a roar, but I must say that I was rather disappointed. The early forecasts were that it was going to hit Dallas this past weekend. People were stocking up on water, gas went up 20 cents a gallon (mostly due to limited supply) and events around the metroplex were canceled.

We ended up getting about 10-20 mph winds, which we get on a boring spring day and a few sprinkles of rain.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful that the weekend was uneventful but the buildup left me tired!

Saturday the bug guy came. Everyone who knows me knows I hate bugs and I’ve seen more than my share the past few weeks. It’s been unseasonably hot in Dallas (100 the other day when the norm is mid-80s) so I guess these bastards from the caveman days were looking for cool. $400/yr is totally worth not seeing bugs in or around my house. I swear if someone had told me about them ahead of time I would have NEVER moved to Texas!

Today I played TS2 Nightlife and went to work for a few hours to try to get caught up. I swear it’s a losing battle. Whenever I finish one thing I have 12 more in line behind it. Now I’m off to watch the premiere of Desperate Housewives. Thank God for DVRs.

P.S. - 2 people I know need to update and their names are Emily & Tony! Get with the program, y’all!
