What was I doing . . .
10 years ago: I was working at the Junkyard during the day and waitressing at night. I had just met Tom a week prior and spent the weekends driving to Philly to visit him. Yes, I worked at a Junkyard. I expected the place to be a little ol’ hole with 1 naked lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. What I got instead was an airconditioned room with a 6-line phone that I had to answer. I loved working there aside from the fact that the owner made you feel guilty when you tried to take the 1 week of vacation you earned. Waitressing, on the other hand, was a pain in the butt. It was at a little place called Kreider’s near Hersheypark. Their ice cream was the bomb. I used to pray that the party of 18 coming in 10 minutes until close was *not* mine because who wants to make 18 sundaes after having been at work for the past 12 hours? I was living with my parents - having moved back in to save some money.
5 years ago: I had been in Dallas for almost a year. I was busy working at EarthLink and hanging out with Mel and Jenn Walsh at night & on the weekends. What a fun time - one of the best times of my life.
1 year ago: I was working at VarTec, had just gone through another layoff and was growing increasingly disgruntled with the state of the company. We were living in the house we’d been in for 3 years and I was stressed to the high heavens that Tom, who’d been unemployed since March, hadn’t found a job yet. Money was tighter than ever.
Two days ago: I was sitting in front of my computer putting the final touches on the Dulce Walls re-design. Then I went into work at MMHFC to do some monitoring since , of course, I didn’t have it finished yet. Spent 4 hours there and got it all done. YAY me!
Yesterday: Went to work and was busy, busy, busy, then came home & had Ice Cream for dinner. (And I wonder why I’m fat?). Watched Hell’s Kitchen and was thankful that Jessica got kicked off.
Today: Hit snooze for about 2 hours, took a shower and went to work. Did reports and had an auditor sit with me for awhile asking me questions I couldn’t answer. Tried to submit a requisition for 4 new positions 6 times with the site kicking me out each time. Finally gave up. Got home around 10 after 7 and have been parked in front of my computer the entire time.
